The 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó Jazz Ensemble I received Graduate College Large Jazz Ensemble Outstanding Performance in the 2025 Downbeat Magazine Student Music Awards. In addition, one of our students in the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó Joe Williams Jazz Scholarship Quartet, bassist Ed Lacala, received a Graduate College Outstanding Soloist Award. This competition is considered among the highest recognition in Jazz education, worldwide, and we were competing among top university programs internationally with over 1000 applicants in a rigorous "blind" audition process.
