Lisa Bendixen and doctoral students Sasha Ball, Bridget Daleiden, Hank Boon, Taylor Cummings, Jordan Hankins, Holmes Scholar Mayra Marquez-Mendez, and Nicole Thomas (all Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education) engaged in an interactive session titled, "Do I Belong Here? Interrogating Knowledge & Creating Community of Belonging in Educational Psychology," at the 2023 Scholarly Consortium for Innovative Psychology in Education (SCIPIE) Biennial Conference. In this session, they shared how students from various backgrounds, with the leadership and support of their professors, created a culture of belonging in an educational psychology doctoral program. They shared lessons learned and helpful strategies to create an anti-oppressive environment while fostering a sense of belonging within a graduate student program.
