Professor Diana Eden (Film), who teaches costume design, will be speaking at the Clark County Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 as part of its series.
Eden first came through 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÃâ·ÑApp by train in 1961, stopping in the downtown station for a brief 30 minutes, time in which the just turned 21 years old, and was able to race across Main Street to gamble some nickels and dimes before racing back to reboard the train!
In 1974, she returned as costume coordinator for Ann-Margret (CFA Hall of Fame Awardee), as well as for other celebrities performing on the Strip such as Diana Ross, Raquel Welch, and Suzanne Somers.
In 1980, she returned as assistant designer to Bob Mackie for the mounting of the spectacular show Jubilee and was in the MGM Grand Hotel the morning of the devastating fire that killed 83 people.
She will be sharing these stories from the past and other more recent 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÃâ·ÑApp stories: her role in the opening gala of the Smith Center, her costuming films such as The Trust (with local Nicolas Cage), Stealing 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÃâ·ÑApp (a co-curricular production between 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó Film and Roger Corman), and Jason Bourne, with Matt Damon.
