Class Notes

Thomas Reymer

Thomas Reymer, '02 BS Physical Education, worked as a paramedic for Mercy Medical/AMR from 1992 to 2002. In 2003, he founded TMR Unlimited until 2008. During that time, Reymer also volunteered as a coach alongside Coach Reitz for the swim team from 2003 to 2006. He began his teaching career in Clark County in mid-2003 and later relocated to teach at Incline High School in Incline Village, Nevada, in 2015. In 2023, he started teaching at Carson High School. He's also served as a high school athletic director for the past 10 years. Reymer enjoys hunting, fishing, and working on classic trucks. Recently, he received the Athletic Director of the Year award from the Nevada Athletic Directors Association. He is married to Melissa (Forrester) Reymer, '95 BS Chemistry and Biochemistry and Secondary Education and '00 M.Ed. Counselor Education.  

Angela Brown

Angela Brown, '10 BS Workforce Education, is a gaming lab assistant for the hospitality management department at College of Southern Nevada. Brown published a book of poetry titled, Poetry. The book is sold on Barnes and Noble Press. 

Yvonne Randall

Yvonne Randall, '06 Ed.D. Special Education, returned to Touro University in August 2024 for a new position as the director of academic partnerships. She works with undergraduate institutions to recruit students into the graduate programs for physical therapy, physician assistant studies, and osteopathic medicine doctoral program. Jill Schutte

Jill (Flemington) Schutte, '64 BS Education, was an elementary teacher in the Los Angeles City School District from 1965-1970. Later on, she worked at Greenwich Academy as a teacher and administrator; a teacher, administrator, and guidance counselor at Westminster Day School in Oklahoma; a teacher at Steward School in Virginia; a teacher and administrator at Anaheim City School District; and a substitute teacher at Temecula Valley School District. She earned a master's degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 1986 and earned a special education certificate in 2014. Schutte has traveled extensively to all continents except Antarctica, took 230 hours of technology training and has been a mentor to many young teachers. Her hobbies include sewing, travel, painting, community service, rotary, and church activities.

Dot Winter, '74 BA Education, is a retired teacher.

Joseph Kielminski

Joseph Kielminski, ’13 BA History and ’19 M.Ed., is a special education teacher at Foothill High School in Henderson. Milken Educator Awards Senior Vice President Jane Foley was joined by Gov. Joe Lombardo and Superintendent of Public Instruction Jhone Ebert presented him with the 2023-24 Milken Educator Award. The Award comes with a $25,000 cash prize that Joseph can use for any purpose. Along with the financial prize, recipients will join the national Milken Educator Network, a growing group of professionals across diverse roles and disciplines working to shape the future of education.

Jodi Branton

Jodi Branton, '08 MS Education, started a cultural consulting business, Awishinaabe, to share Ojibwe culture and help others teach from a multicultural perspective: "Appreciation over Appropriation!"

Ammir Aziz

Ammir Aziz, '19 BA Sociology and '24 M.Ed., joined 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄܿƴó's School of Public Health as the regional program manager of The Defensive Line. The Defensive Line is a non-profit organization co-founded by former 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÃâ·ÑApp Raider Solomon Thomas to end the epidemic of youth suicide, especially for young people of color. The School of Public Health works in partnership with The Defensive Line to help execute its mission in Southern Nevada.

G. Lis Dziminski

G. Lis Dziminski, '01 BS Education, is a STEM program manager at the Governor's Office of Science, Innovation, and Technology. Dziminski received a Master of Education in advanced teaching and leadership from Sierra Nevada College with a specialization in gifted studies in 2010.

Alexa Ching

Alexa Ching, '23 BS Education, is an elementary school teacher at Stanford Elementary School. She teaches second grade and was just nominated and awarded New Elementary Educator of 2024 for Clark County School District. Ching likes to spend quality time with loved ones, binge watch the Star Wars saga, and spend time outdoors.
